# Holmes logo exploration v49-v54

This pass stops playing with the letter H and leans into Holmes as Sherlock Holmes: casework, deduction, evidence, clues, and continuity.

The creative position:

- Holmes is the consulting detective for agent work.
- It notices the clue that survives messy sessions.
- It keeps the case history so the next agent does not start cold.
- It preserves evidence and context instead of raw chat noise.
- It helps teams hand off a clean case brief.

## Mascot vs icon

Use an icon as the primary logo.

A full mascot is tempting, but risky. It can become cute, theatrical, hard to render at small sizes, and too dependent on one character pose. Use a mascot-like detective as a secondary brand asset for onboarding, empty states, docs covers, and launch visuals.

The master mark should be an object/sigil from the detective world: cap/bookmark, case seal, clue thread, lens, or key.

## Recommendation

Advance v50 Deerstalker Bookmark first.

It is the cleanest primary-logo direction. It is Sherlock-coded without relying on a face, actor likeness, pipe, or literal character. The bookmark/ribbon makes it relevant to Holmes as memory and continuity.

Advance v52 Consulting Detective second as a brand character, not the main logo.

This is the best answer if we want personality. It should become a restrained secondary mascot for onboarding, docs, launch graphics, and product empty states.

Advance v51 Case Seal third.

It is strongest for source-backed memory, provenance, proof packets, and clean handoffs. It feels more official than friendly, but the product fit is good.

Explore v54 Red Thread Case as an abstract system.

It may not be distinctive enough yet as a standalone logo, but it could become a visual grammar for connecting clues, sources, memories, and handoffs.

## Notes

v49 Deduction Lens is clear but expected. It should be treated as an auxiliary icon unless it can be made more ownable.

v53 Baker Street Key is elegant, but it may read as security, credentials, or password management.

## Production note

These are bitmap concepts. Once a direction is selected, redraw the exact chosen cropped logo as vector artwork with app icon, CLI mark, horizontal lockup, favicon, dark-mode, monochrome, and small-size variants.
